STOCKPORT PARISH CHURCH ST MARY'S IN THE MARKETPLACE
Parish of Stockport and Brinnington
Want to give an hour of your time to one of our friendly, community-facing projects set out below?
If you're interested in doing so, we'd love to have a chat. Please call into St Mary's Church any Saturday morning between 10.30am and 12 noon or call 0161-477-1938 and leave us your details.
Monday - St Luke's Church - 2-3pm. 'Together'...is a welcoming group for those who'd like to come together with others and chat, laugh, reflect and eat the odd biscuit or two over a cup of tea (or ice cream in the Summer). Volunteering involves making people feel welcome, making drinks, listening and generally enabling a warm, friendly environment.
Tuesday - St Mary's Church - 10.30am-2pm. Greeting visitors, enabling them to light candles/pray, chatting to those attending lunchtime Services and, when it re-opens shortly, greeting Host Cafe visitors, taking orders, taking money, serving at and clearing tables, kitchen duties etc.
Friday - St Thomas' Church - 9.30-11am. Being available to greet visitors, make a drink for them, invite them to light a candle etc.
Foodie Friday - St Mary's Church - last Friday of the month 6.30-8pm. Helping welcome people who are attending Foodie Friday, volunteers musicians/singers would be welcome to this slot too! A very laid back session to volunteer at, with a really wide range of people coming through.
Saturday - St Mary's Church - 10.30am- 2.00pm. Visitors from across the age range access St. Mary's weekly to pray, look round, visit the Stockport Heritage Trust and - eventually - to visit the Host Cafe (when same roles, as listed above for Tuesday lunchtime, will be available).
